the first piper
The story
Ross O'C. Jennings, a 30-year-old Scotsman, has been playing the bagpipes since he was 14. After meeting adventurers who have swum the Mississippi, he was inspired to set a major goal for himself. His initial idea was to become the first bagpiper to play in Antarctica, but he found this had already been done. Instead, he set his sights on travelling to every country with his bagpipes.
His first trip to Tunisia revealed that most countries have their own version of bagpipes, showcasing the instrument's global appeal. He enjoyed the diverse cultures, music, and food he encountered.
After five years and visits to over 100 countries, Ross and his partner started a travel agency called Breacans. Their website offers guided trips to places they have visited, aiming to share their experiences and inspire others to embrace cultural exchange and travel. They are planning trips for next year as travel restrictions ease.
